The Need and the Problem We Address

Across Europe, many Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) face a growing challenge: how to stay competitive in the digital age while maintaining harmony and knowledge flow between generations.

Today’s workplaces bring together four generations — from Baby Boomers to Generation Z — each with different experiences, work styles, and digital skills. While this diversity is a powerful asset, it often leads to communication gaps, digital divides, and missed opportunities for collaboration.

The project addresses the need for structured, inclusive collaboration between younger and older professionals by promoting two-way learning: younger generations bring digital innovation, while experienced workers share leadership, problem-solving, and strategic insight.

Main Goal

To bridge intergenerational and digital skills gaps within SMEs by promoting collaboration between younger and older employees, fostering lifelong learning, and strengthening digital readiness, inclusion, and sustainability.

InterGen was created to bridge this gap

Through practical tools, workshops, and e-learning resources, InterGen helps SMEs turn generational diversity into strength, ensuring that knowledge, creativity, and innovation flow seamlessly across all ages — for a more resilient, inclusive, and future-ready European workforce.
